About me

My name is Ann Marie Thomas and I am the proud owner of Westwildwood, Inc. a web design company. The creation of this web design business is an idea that’s been rattling around in my head for a number of years. And since there’s no time like the present — I’ve taken it from an idea to a reality.

The main focus of my web design work is that of the small to medium-size business. I spent many years working directly with the owner of a medium-sized landscape construction company. My work there gave me the opportunity to set up and maintain many computer systems, all developed with the small business user in mind.

I created numerous database and spreadsheet applications in an effort to meet the continually changing needs of a growing business. My skills are well-suited to understanding and addressing the unique needs of the small business environment as well as introducing your business to the potential of the Internet.

Methods to my madness

I pride myself on my attention to detail and anyone familiar with the web design process knows that detail is what it’s all about. It may be true that, with the right software, anyone can create a web site. But it takes someone truly dedicated to detail to construct a professional site that is:

• Creatively designed
• Easy for the user to navigate
• Free of all grammatical and technical errors

Each of my sites is custom designed for the individual client. I do not use templates or pre-fab designs (though I will work with you to customize a template that you may have purchased). I will listen carefully to learn what you would like to see on your web site and then go about the process of creating a site unique to your needs and wants.

I don’t pretend to know your business better than you know it yourself. I offer my expertise in web design and development and in the areas where you may need some assistance. The web is loaded with poorly done and rarely maintained web sites. Please don’t let yours become one of those!

My credentials

Self-taught in most aspects of computers, I returned to college to fill in some of the gaps in my computer knowledge. I began my studies at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois, concentrating on a degree in Computer Information Systems. During my studies at Oakton, I became intrigued with web site design and development and decided to focus my efforts in this area.

To date, I have earned the following degree:
