This fascinating book takes a "fly-on-the-wall" intense and close look into the often secretive events taking place in the football locker room at halftime. It is primarily written from the perspective and insights described by top pro and college coaches. Great Moments in Football Halftime contains eight interviews with: Mike Ditka, Dick Jauron, Frank Beamer, Bill Cowher, Al Groh, Randy Walker, Pat Fitzgerald and Nick Saban. Nearly 50 accomplished coaches contributed turn around stories, anecdotes, and more. Tim Green, best selling author, former NFL player with the Atlanta Falcons describes the player's perspective. Veteran sportswriter, Vic Carucci tells the Halftime Story from the inside of the Superbowl.

The 291 pages include insights into strategies and tactics chosen by coaches to achieve victory. Woven into the tantalizing contemporary stories are classic halftime personalities: Rockne, Madden, Bowden, Schembechler, Shula, Halas, Lombardi, Woody Hayes and more. High school athletes; Rob Komosa and Rocky Clark tell their football stories as they describe their status in rebuilding their lives after catastrophic spinal cord injury placed them in the "halftime" of their lives.

In early 2003, Randy Walker former head coach at Northwestern University and Dick Jauron former head coach of the Chicago Bears-now the NFL Buffalo Bills, and Don Grossnickle began compiling a book publishing project focusing on the “other halftime show”, the one that takes place behind locked doors in the football locker room. The project was initiated to financially benefit former Chicago area high school football players, Rocky Clark and Rob Komosa. The book proceeds can establish a foundation to assist any future high school football player who suffers a catastrophic spinal cord injury. The book is dedicated in memoriam to Randy Walker. The inspirational foreword is written by his son, Jamie Walker.
